Fish for fun at Bear Run!

Bear Run offers several options for those interested in fishing - from beginners to seasoned veterans! A pond stocked with rainbow trout in the Spring is located at the Campground. This pond is catch-and-release, and no fishing license is needed to enjoy the experience. The campground also offers a small pond for children who are curious and ready to start fishing.

Lake Arthur, located right next to Bear Run Campground inside Moraine State Park, is a great location for a family fishing outing. A variety of fish reside inside the lake: Bass, Muskie, Catfish, and Bluegill fish are just a few examples of the natural breeds inhabiting the lake. The lake spans over a 26 mile radius, giving plenty of angler options. Before coming to the lake, it is important to remember to bring a fishing license!

McConnell's Mills is not only an excellent scenic destination, but is also a great fishing spot! Only a five minute drive from Bear Run, the park several has breath-taking hiking trails. Those interested in fishing can travel down to the creek which has regular stockings of trout!

For any fishing options, equipment and bait is available for purchase at the campground store. Bait shops are also located near by that provide fishing licenses and other fishing equipment as well.

Lake Arthur has held some of Pennsylvania's state fishing records including a large mouth bass weighing in at nearly 9 pounds!
